OPELOUSAS — Evangeline Downs will be running out of the gate Wednesday for its 53rd season of thoroughbred horse racing season. The race track-casino held a luncheon Friday inside Silks Clubhouse to preview the upcoming season, including announcing some changes to the season schedule and several upgrades that have been made to the track. The season which official opens with a nine-race program on Wednesday, will consist of 84 racing days broken down into 21 weeks of four nights of racing per week.
