'I'm Going To Make People Mad': Churchill's New Equine Medical Director Up To The Challenge
Dr. Will Farmer, recently announced as the new equine medical director at Churchill Downs, Inc., is formulating a plan to reduce fatal injuries across the company's three racetracks. According to the Courier-Journal, the 39-year-old former racing regulator will use his increased resources to implement additional pre-race screening and training oversight. “I'm going to make people mad,” Farmer told the Courier-Journal. “But if you don't make people mad, you're not looking out for the horse.”
