Six months after the Kentucky Derby ended with the unprecedented disqualification of the horse that finished first, U.S. District Judge Karen E. Caldwell has ruled that the stewards' decision was, indeed, final. Caldwell granted a motion by the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission to dismiss the suit brought by Gary and Mary West, owners of Maximum Security, upholding the unanimous vote of three state stewards to declare Country House the winner of the 145th Derby, run May 4 at Churchill Downs.
